Black Friday is one of the busiest periods for online sales. Viewers expect deals, and creators can use this time to increase activity and sales through well-planned coupon campaigns. Coupons are not only useful for discounts, but also for attracting new buyers and rewarding long-time supporters.
With the Coupons Widget, you can manage and display offers directly on your stream, creating clear visibility for limited-time deals. This guide explains how to plan, configure, and use coupons effectively during Black Friday.
Why Black Friday Is an Ideal Time for Coupons
During this period, audience attention is high. Many viewers are ready to buy if they see the right offer. Coupons help you meet that interest with structure and control. They also make it easier to reward returning customers while reaching new ones.
Main benefits:
- Viewers expect deals and are more likely to purchase.
- Temporary discounts can bring back past buyers.
- Events like raids or collaborations are easier to convert into sales when paired with a coupon.
Understanding How Coupons Work
There are two main types:
Free Pack Coupons
Allow you to gift packs directly through a link. Each viewer can redeem a free pack once. This works well for quick promotions, community rewards, or testing new collections.

Discount Percentage Coupons
Provide a set discount on a purchase. For example, 10%, 15%, or 20%. These require a minimum purchase price and are best for driving volume during short events.

Building an Effective Black Friday Coupon Plan
The key is to keep discounts meaningful but limited. You want to create urgency without lowering long-term value.
For discount codes:
- Use short, direct codes like BF15 or FRIDAY25.
- Keep discount levels between 10% and 30%.
- Announce codes clearly on stream and social media.
- Set time limits of no more than 24 hours.
For free-pack codes:
- Restrict the number of available redemptions.
- Drop free packs during moments of peak traffic.
- Use them as a reward for hitting a milestone or goal.
- Avoid repeating free-pack campaigns too often.
Setting Up Coupons
In the Coupons section of Streamloots, you can define:
- Number of uses to limit redemptions.
- Coupon code name to keep it simple and easy to type.
- Linked collections to target specific offers.
- Expiration date and time to maintain urgency.
Before launching, test the code yourself to confirm it applies correctly and expires on time.
Avoiding Common Mistakes
A few issues can reduce the impact of coupons:
- Offering discounts too frequently lowers collection value.
- Running a coupon for too long removes urgency.
- Using unclear codes or expiry dates causes confusion.
- Ignoring existing supporters can hurt loyalty. Always give them a reason to return.
Using the Coupons Widget
You can access the Coupons Widget in your Coupons section. There, you will see a Configure Alerts option. Before configuring your Coupons alert, make sure you’ve already added your alerts URL as a browser source in your broadcasting platform (like OBS).

In this configuration panel, you’ll be able to customize your alert and test it to ensure that everything works correctly:

Triggering the coupon alert must be done manually to allow you to decide when to activate and show the alert. To do this, all you have to do is click on the megaphone icon:

Practical Black Friday Campaign Ideas
- Timed Discount Windows: Offer 10% off in the morning, 20% in the afternoon, and 30% for the final hours. This encourages viewers to check back throughout the day.
- Hidden Free-Pack Links: Post a few free-pack links at random times on chat or social channels. Make them available to a limited number of users to keep value perception high.
- Flash Offers During Streams: Trigger the widget and release a code valid for only 10 or 15 minutes. This works well at peak moments in your stream.
